Coral Reef Sedum Live Plant Cutting

Sedum tetractinum ‘Coral Reef’

Add colorful, low-growing texture to your garden with Coral Reef Sedum, an easy-care perennial succulent valued for its spreading growth and foliage that can develop beautiful coral, bronze, and reddish seasonal tones.

Its creeping habit makes it especially well suited for rock gardens, borders, containers, retaining walls, and other areas where it can spread or trail naturally.

Each cutting is freshly harvested from plants grown at our Blue Ridge Mountain homestead and carefully prepared for shipment.

What You Will Receive

  • One fresh, unrooted Coral Reef Sedum cutting

  • Approximately 4–6 inches long

  • One rockwool rooting cube

  • Basic care and propagation instructions

This listing is for an unrooted plant cutting—not an established, rooted plant.

Because each cutting is naturally grown and individually harvested, its size, branching, foliage color, and overall appearance may vary from the listing photographs.

Growing Information

Common Names: Coral Reef Sedum, Chinese Stonecrop

Plant Type: Perennial succulent groundcover

Light Requirements: Full sun to partial shade

Water Requirements: Low once established

Growth Habit: Low-growing, spreading, and mat-forming

Difficulty Level: Easy

Garden performance and winter hardiness depend on the purchaser’s climate, growing zone, soil, planting location, and care.

Rooting Your Cutting

Coral Reef Sedum generally roots readily in a well-draining growing medium.

Your cutting may be rooted in:

  • Succulent or cactus potting mix

  • Well-draining potting soil

  • Rockwool

  • A shallow propagation container

Allow the cut end to dry briefly before placing it into your chosen growing medium. Keep the medium lightly moist while roots begin to develop, but avoid saturated or waterlogged conditions.

Succulent cuttings require good drainage. Excessive moisture can cause the cutting to soften or rot.

The included rockwool cube can be used as a propagation medium after the cutting arrives.

Rock Gardens, Borders & Containers

Coral Reef Sedum stays close to the ground and gradually spreads outward. It is especially attractive tucked between stones, planted along garden edges, or allowed to cascade gently over the sides of containers.

Its foliage may develop warmer coral, reddish, and bronze tones during certain seasons or under particular growing conditions, providing changing visual interest throughout the year.

Important Information About Live Cuttings

This product is a living, unrooted plant cutting. Successful rooting and future plant growth depend on shipping conditions, temperature, handling, planting method, moisture, light, climate, and ongoing care.

We carefully select and package each cutting, but rooting success and future plant performance cannot be guaranteed.

Please unpack your cutting promptly after delivery and place it into an appropriate propagation medium.

If The Robertson Rottie Ranch makes an error with your order or is unable to fulfill it, we will address the issue in accordance with our Return & Refund Policy.

Important: Care Immediately After Delivery

Please unpack your Coral Reef Sedum cutting immediately after delivery and remove all shipping materials.

Unlike leafy herb cuttings, succulent cuttings should not be placed in water for a 48-hour recovery period. Allow the cut end to remain dry and exposed to air briefly before placing it into a dry or only lightly moist, well-draining propagation medium.

Keep the cutting in bright, indirect light while it adjusts after shipping. Avoid saturated soil, standing water, and excessive moisture, which can cause succulent stems to soften or rot.

Shipping

Live plant orders are generally processed within 1–5 business days and normally ship Monday through Wednesday to reduce the likelihood of weekend carrier delays.

Tracking information will be provided when your order ships.

Live cuttings are available for purchase only when we are actively accepting and fulfilling plant orders. If seasonal temperatures or severe weather require us to pause live-plant shipping, this listing will be marked unavailable until ordering resumes.

Customers are responsible for confirming that this plant can legally be shipped to and grown at their destination.
