6 Live Culinary Herb Cuttings

Bring classic pizza-garden flavors to your backyard with a collection of six aromatic culinary herbs.

This assortment includes basil, oregano, and thyme varieties commonly used in pizzas, pasta sauces, marinades, soups, roasted dishes, and other home-cooked recipes.

Whether you grow herbs in containers, raised beds, patio planters, or a dedicated kitchen garden, this collection offers an enjoyable way to begin growing fresh culinary herbs at home.

Each cutting is freshly harvested from plants grown at our Blue Ridge Mountain homestead and carefully prepared for shipment.

Included in This Collection

Sweet Basil

A classic culinary herb commonly used in pesto, pizza toppings, pasta sauces, salads, and fresh garnishes.

Greek Oregano

An aromatic oregano with a bold flavor traditionally associated with Mediterranean-inspired recipes, pizza, and seasoning blends.

Italian Oregano

A culinary oregano with an aromatic profile suited to pasta sauces, pizza, marinades, and Italian-inspired dishes.

English Thyme

A versatile culinary herb commonly used in sauces, soups, vegetables, poultry dishes, and roasted recipes.

Hot & Spicy Oregano

A strongly aromatic oregano variety for gardeners and cooks who enjoy a bolder seasoning profile.

Lemon Thyme

A fragrant thyme with citrus-like notes that makes an interesting addition to poultry, seafood, vegetable dishes, and herb blends.

Fragrance and flavor can vary according to variety, season, maturity, sunlight, temperature, soil, and other growing conditions.

What You Will Receive

  • Six fresh, unrooted culinary herb cuttings

  • One cutting of each variety listed above

  • Cuttings approximately 4–6 inches long

  • Six rockwool rooting cubes

  • Moisture-protective packaging for transit

  • Basic care and propagation instructions

This collection contains unrooted plant cuttings—not established, rooted plants.

Because each cutting is naturally grown and individually harvested, its size, branching, leaf shape, color, fragrance, and overall appearance may vary from the listing photographs.

Growing Information

This collection contains herbs with different growth habits and seasonal requirements.

  • Suitable for containers after rooting

  • Appropriate for kitchen gardens and raised beds

  • Flowers may attract visiting pollinators

  • Includes both annual and perennial herbs

  • Suitable for patio planters and homestead gardens

  • Individual varieties may root and grow at different rates

Sweet Basil is frost-sensitive and is commonly grown as an annual.

The oregano and thyme varieties are perennial in suitable growing zones and require good drainage after they become established.

Garden performance, mature size, and winter hardiness depend on the individual variety, the purchaser’s climate, growing zone, soil, planting location, and ongoing care.

Important: Care Immediately After Delivery

Please unpack all six cuttings immediately after delivery and remove all shipping materials.

Place the lower portion of each stem in clean, room-temperature water for a minimum of 48 hours. Keep all leaves above the waterline, with only the lower stem and at least one propagation node in the water.

Keep each variety identified and separated during recovery and rooting.

This recovery period allows the cuttings to rehydrate and recover from normal shipping stress before rooting begins.

During the recovery period:

  • Keep the cuttings in bright, indirect light

  • Keep them away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures

  • Replace the water if it becomes cloudy

  • Do not add fertilizer

  • Do not allow any leaves to remain submerged

Temporary wilting or softness can occur after shipping and does not necessarily indicate that a cutting is damaged.

Rooting Your Cuttings

After the initial 48-hour recovery period, continue rooting each cutting using one of these methods:

  • Keep the lower stem and propagation node in clean water

  • Place the lower stem and propagation node into a pre-soaked rockwool cube supplied with water

Six rockwool cubes are included so each cutting can be rooted separately.

Keep all leaves above the waterline and do not allow the rockwool cubes to dry out. Provide bright, indirect light while roots develop.

Do not transfer the cuttings into soil immediately after delivery.

Allow each cutting to remain in water or water-supplied rockwool until several healthy roots have developed and the roots are at least two inches long. Once a cutting’s roots reach that length, it may be transplanted into an appropriate potting mix.

The six varieties may root at different rates. Rooting time varies according to the variety, temperature, light, water quality, and other growing conditions.

Important Information About Live Cuttings

These products are living, unrooted plant cuttings. Successful rooting and future plant growth depend on shipping conditions, temperature, handling, propagation method, moisture, light, climate, and ongoing care.

We carefully select and package each cutting, but rooting success and future plant performance cannot be guaranteed.

If The Robertson Rottie Ranch makes an error with your order or is unable to fulfill it, we will address the issue in accordance with our Return & Refund Policy.

Shipping

Live plant orders are generally processed within 1–5 business days and normally ship Monday through Wednesday to reduce the likelihood of weekend carrier delays.

Your cuttings will be wrapped with moisture-protective materials and carefully packaged for transit. Tracking information will be provided when your order ships.

Live cuttings are available for purchase only when we are actively accepting and fulfilling plant orders. If seasonal temperatures or severe weather require us to pause live-plant shipping, this listing will be marked unavailable until ordering resumes.

Customers are responsible for confirming that these plants can legally be shipped to and grown at their destination.
