Part of our Mountain Botanical Body Oils collection, Stillwater begins with lavender, lemon balm, chamomile, and catnip grown organically or responsibly wildcrafted here on our mountain in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

These botanicals have long been associated in traditional herbal practice with quiet, rest, and winding down at the end of the day, making them a natural fit for an evening body-care ritual.

The plants are harvested in small batches, carefully dried, and then slowly infused with gentle, controlled heat into a smooth blend of high-oleic sunflower, jojoba, and sweet almond oils.

Rather than simply blending carrier oils and adding fragrance, Stillwater follows an older apothecary tradition: whole botanicals, nourishing oils, gentle warmth, and time.

Each batch undergoes a seven-hour slow heat infusion, giving the botanicals time to steep into the carrier oils while gentle warmth supports the infusion process.

There is something beautifully old-fashioned about it. No perfume pretending to be lavender. No shortcuts. Just real botanicals, carefully selected oils, gentle heat, and seven unhurried hours.

The result is a silky body oil with a soft glide, lovely after bathing or for an unhurried evening massage. The combination of lavender, lemon balm, chamomile, and catnip gives Stillwater a distinctly quiet botanical character that feels especially at home in the slower hours of the evening.

Our botanicals begin close to home.

Lavender, lemon balm, chamomile, catnip, and the other plants used throughout The Mountain Apothecary are grown or responsibly gathered in season, then carefully dried and stored until they are ready for a new batch.

Working with real plants means no two harvests are perfectly identical.

The color may deepen. The natural aroma may shift subtly. One season may produce botanicals that look slightly different from the next.

We consider those small variations part of the beauty of genuine small-batch botanical work.

HOW TO USE
